100 word challenge (week 9)

The great outbreak of St. Mary’s was a tragic time. Everybody in the city was afraid to evacuate, but they had to if they wanted to survive. One cloudy afternoon a St. Mary’s industry spilled a red chemical. This chemical was one nobody knew about. It was urgent to evacuate but at the same time they had to figure out what this red chemical was going to do. The industry tried to stop the chemical from flowing out but it was too hard to contain. The chemical kept expanding and flowed through the whole city.

    I think you chose some really good words to show the seriousness and some of the potential dangers of some chemicals; words such as “great”, “tragic”and “expanding” were good choices. Well done.
